From Dusk Till Dawn is a pretty off-the-wall movie, even as far as vampire movies go. The main reason for that is that is that Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay for it.
He is more known for his directing style and even though he did not direct it, his style still rubs off in the movie. Besides the fact that he plays one of the main characters in the movie you would still be able to tell that he is involved if you have ever seen any of his movies.
The movie holds quite a bit of star power with Tarantino, George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, and Juliette Lewis all playing major roles. Overall, the story is pretty simple.
Clooney and Tarantino play two criminals who take hostages to have collateral for their escape. The hostages are a family played by Keitel and his daughter (Lewis) and his son.
They end up in a bar in Mexico and find out that it is overrun by vampires. So the hostages team up with their captors to fight the vampires to survive. This is a brief summary of what happens in the movie as there are a lot of subplots and the intention here is not to ruin the movie by telling you everything that happens.
There are some weird and sometimes freaky little side things that happen in the movie, From Dusk Till Dawn. The movie is actually somewhat gory but almost in a comical, not scary way. It is a hard style to explain but viewers would understand once watching the movie.
Although it may have the intention of being a horror movie of some strange comical format, it will likely not scare anybody except maybe for some young children. It could almost be categorized more as an action film than a horror film.
There is a part involving something that would make you think of ancient native Mexican history and how it plays into the existence of vampires in the movie. This is a short but noteworthy part of the movie.
Overall, From Dusk Till Dawn is one of those movies that will provide a few hours of action packed entertainment. There's nothing too deep or hard to understand about it. People of many walks of life should enjoy From Dusk Till Dawn.
