Famous Vampires

Famous Vampires ... throughout history there have been creatures of the night more famous than others. No vampire site worth its salt would be complete without a full discussion of the more famous characters. They are the crème de la crème, so to speak. The elite, the real celebrities - maybe that is the most fitting term for them for our own modern and changing times.

And at one time, the only way you would hear anything about vampires was by reading about them in a book of some kind or by hearing about them from another person. Times have changed though, and it is easy to see vampires on screen at the movie theater and on television - just about anytime of the day.

Ever since Dracula first came out starring Bela Lugosi, and even earlier with the emergence of the Nosferatu film, vampires have become a part of our everyday life. And it seems that in today's modern times especially, that vampires could be found in most of our homes almost daily.

How many of us have one or more DVDs filled with our favorite vampire characters right now? You might have any number of vampire movies in your stash - or maybe even several of your own favorite vampire TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or True Blood. I know I probably have more than my fair share personally!

So, with that in mind, let's delve further into some of the most famous of vampire characters of either film, television or literature - or a combination of any of these. I plan to list characters below based on name of the official work, such as the particular film or book in which they appeared.

And the popular Vampire I will discuss here might be male - might be female. Who knows? But you can be sure that if I take the time to delve into them even more in depth and give them a full page write up, then that they are indeed what I consider at least, to be Famous Vampires.
